  • MUSIC TIP OF THE MONTH: VOCALISTS

MUSIC TIP OF THE MONTH: VOCALISTS  As Colorado’s freezing temperatures and high elevation settle in this January, vocalists may notice their voice feels drier or more strained. Cold, dry air can significantly affect your vocal cords, making it harder to maintain clarity and range. To protect your voice, drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your vocal cords moisturized, and consider drinking warm herbal teas with honey for extra soothing relief.  With the dry indoor air from heating systems, using a humidifier can be a game-changer. It helps keep your throat moist and prevents irritation. Additionally, vocal rest is crucial if you’re feeling under the weather or experiencing strain. Pushing through sickness can lead to long-term damage, so make sure to give your voice time to recover. By staying on top of hydration, rest, and moisture, you'll keep your voice healthy and strong through the chilly months. Happy singing!

    Recital In Review:

In December, Littleton School of Music hosted a heartwarming Christmas recital that truly highlighted the talent and dedication of our students. It was amazing to see so many students of all ages take the stage, performing everything from singing and playing piano to drumming, violin, and more. The recital was a beautiful celebration of the holiday season and the hard work our students have put into their lessons. Watching each performer share their musical journey with family and friends was truly inspiring. We are so proud of everyone who participated and can’t wait to see what they’ll bring to the spring recital!

Climbing Higher on the Musical Ladder:

Let’s Keep Reaching for the Next Achievement!  At Littleton School of Music, we love celebrating every step of your musical journey with the Musical Ladder® System. By now, many of you are familiar with how it works: every three months, students have the chance to earn exciting rewards—wristbands, certificates, and trophies—by passing achievement tests. These rewards are a fun way to track progress, but they’re also a reminder of the dedication and hard work put into each lesson.  We know that staying motivated to practice can be challenging at times, especially with busy schedules. But each time a student passes a test and earns a new reward, it’s a direct result of their commitment. It’s not just about the rewards themselves, but the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching new levels.  So, keep the momentum going! Let’s stay focused on those next goals and keep climbing the Musical Ladder—one achievement at a time! We can’t wait to see how far you’ll go!

Littleton School of Music Celebrates 19 Years of Musical Excellence!

This upcoming April, Littleton School of Music will mark an exciting milestone—19 years of inspiring and nurturing the musical talents of students in our community. Over nearly two decades, we’ve had the privilege of watching countless students grow not only as musicians but as individuals, some of whom have been with us since the beginning of their musical journeys.  As our student base grew, so did our vision for the future. A few years ago, we made the exciting decision to move to a new, larger location to better serve our expanding community. This move was a significant step for our school, allowing us to provide more space for lessons, recitals, and special events, while maintaining the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that makes Littleton School of Music such a special place.  Throughout these 19 years, we’ve celebrated many special moments, from our annual recitals showcasing the hard work of our students to ribbon-cutting ceremonies that marked the expansion of our programs. We’ve gathered together for joyful holiday celebrations, where the spirit of music and community shines bright. It’s been a joy to witness students of all ages take the stage, confidently displaying their skills, while sharing their passion for music with family and friends.  The heart of our school lies in the teachers who have made such a lasting impact on our students. Their dedication, passion, and belief in the potential of each child have shaped the school into what it is today. Over the years, we’ve seen hundreds of kids climb the musical ladder, from their first notes to mastering their instruments, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see many students move on to exciting future careers—whether in music or in entirely different fields.  As we reflect on these 19 years, we’re filled with gratitude for the students, teachers, and families who have made this journey so special. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds as we continue to inspire and nurture future musicians, dreamers, and leaders. Here's to 19 more years of music, growth, and community!
